Hello, namaste!

I am the author of the short story collection The In-Betweeners (Braddock Avenue Books) and the fiction chapbook His Grandma Blues (Belle Point Press). My fiction, nonfiction, and critical essays have appeared in such journals and anthologies as The Pinch, Isthmus, Reed, South Carolina Review, Bookends Review, New Writing, Pangyrus, Assay, Empathy in Creative Writing, and Innovative Practices in Creative Writing.

I am also the editor of South to South: Writing South Asia in the American South (Texas Review Press), an anthology of stories and essays by U.S.-based authors of South Asian descent, and Migrating Craft: The Art and Practice of Contemporary U.S. Writers with Immigrant Roots (Texas Review Press), forthcoming in Fall 2026, and a co-editor of Kavya: Representative Nepali Poetry in English (Grey Sparrow, USA and Vajra Books, Nepal).

An associate professor of creative writing at Arkansas State University, I also serve as the series editor of the TRP Creative Writing Studies Series, published by Texas Review Press, and Creative Materials Editor of Arkansas Review. I am a 2025 recipient of the Catalyze Fellowship (literature, fiction) from Mid-America Arts Alliance. I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas with my wife and son.
